*23* Day 20


REFUEL DAY

Breakfast
Whole wheat pancakes with sugar free syrup and fresh strawberries
yummy!

Mid Morning Snack
raw almonds and cashews

Lunch
Whole wheat pita pocket with chicken, honey mustard, spring greens, and cherry tomatoes. 
Fresh strawberries
It was really good!!

Mid-Afternoon Snack
almonds/cashews

Dinner
I'm writing this 5 days after the fact, so unfortunately, I don't remember

Evening Snack
Carrots

Water Intake
I did pretty well, but not as well as I do during the week. 

How I felt
We're in the home stretch! 
I felt really good.  Our day started out with some potentially really good news, so that only improved how I felt.

*19* Day 16

REFUEL DAY

Hooray for Carbs!!

Breakfast
Left over oatmeal from last week.  It smelled like apple pie when I opened the container, but unfortunately it did not taste like it :(
It filled me up and was hearty, just really bland-even after adding a little more cinnamon and a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. 

Mid Morning Snack
Cashews and raw almonds.  I was still a little sore from the dentist yesterday, so I didn't eat very many. 

Lunch
Left over chicken from last night in a whole wheat tortilla and some baked lentil chips I found at Whole Foods yesterday. 
Delicious lunch! I also had a mandarine orange spark. 

Mid-Afternoon Snack
Carrots and hummus.  Again, with my jaw hurting, I didn't eat very much. 

Dinner
Asian Stir-fry with chicken, carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower.  
I also found some shiritaki noodles made from tofu and yam and mixed them into the stir fry.
They have relatively no carbs, have no fat, and no sugar.

I was not a fan of them-not a great taste, but mostly a really rubbery/slimy texture.  No thank you.  My husband, however, loved them.

Evening Snack
Kale Chips and 1 Ginger cookie

Water Intake
I drank 2 full water bottles before the end of work.  I had another one down before dinner, and a fifth one before bed.  Add in the spark from lunch and I did pretty darn well. 

How I felt
Great! It's amazing how a 4 four day work week puts a little extra spring in your step.

*15* Day 12

REFUEL DAY

Refuel days allow for good-starchy carbs and fruit at Breakfast and lunch

Breakfast
I found a recipe for crockpot oatmeal on Pinterest that uses steel cut oats, cut up apples, apple juice, water, and cinnamon.  Wanting a little variety from our usual breakfasts, I decided to give it a try.  It was good-but not great.  Definitely filling though! I put quite a bit of cinnamon and a little bit of Stevia in to sweeten it up a little bit, but it was kinda bland.  Nothing to write home about. Once we can introduce some sugars back into our diet-I think a little bit of lite brown sugar would help a lot.
I also had a mandarine orange spark. 

Mid Morning Snack
Carrots and Garlic hummus

Lunch
Whole Wheat Spaghetti with turkey meat (no sugar added) meat sauce.  I had another spark with lunch because I was feeling pretty tired. 

Mid-Afternoon Snack
Hard boiled egg white

Dinner
My husband has been craving pizza, and I found another great recipe for a mushroom cap pizza that we decided to try out tonight.  We couldn't have mushrooms during the cleanse phase, and my husband LOVES mushrooms, so it was hard for him to wait 10 days before he could have them again.  

I bought some large portobellos and stuffed them with no sugar added tomato sauce, black olives, seasoned turkey meatballs, and some "Go! Veggie. Cheese"-then stuck 'em under the broiler until bubbly.  I'm not a big mushroom fan myself, but these were quite yummy!  We also had a nice salad to go with it. 

Evening Snack
Celery and natural peanut butter with a small handful of raw cashews. 

Water Intake
To help combat the dizziness I was feeling last night and this morning, I made sure to step up the water intake today. 

How I felt
I was up early for a 6:30 meeting, so felt pretty tired during the day-even with 2 sparks.  In addition, I got a red, scaly rash on my right hand around noon that itched and burned.  It didn't appear anywhere else, but I'm guessing is an allergic reaction to something.  In addition, I was incredibly dizzy and light headed all day long.  My advocate sponsor/coach suspects it may be either the pills I take before or at lunch, OR the spark.  I'm using this weekend to try and figure it out. 

Thank goodness it's a 3 day weekend-so I can "catch up" on some sleep.
